An Ode to Community and Loss
Tommy’s Berlin café is a world unto itself: a place where coffee, music and conversation bring the diverse neighbourhood together.
With an open-door philosophy where everyone is welcome. Having been displaced once by the changing city, Tommy has finally found somewhere to belong.
But when a devastating rent increase threatens the café, his makeshift family and the community, the forces reshaping the city suddenly become impossible to ignore.
As familiar faces vanish, friendships shift and the doors edge closer to closing for good, Tommy is forced to confront the inevitability of change and what it means to let go.
Tender, bittersweet and quietly hopeful, the film is a meditation on home, community and transiency,
reminding us that local spaces are anchors of community, memory and belonging.
